Gourikwa Reserve near Gouritsmond on the Garden Route is without a doubt one of the most unique private reserves along the South African coastline.

Gourikwa Reserve is a true escape with 5km of pristine coastline, a rich variety of indigenous fauna and flora as well as boasting with facilities ranging from top class accommodation to a beachfront chapel and wedding facility.

Located in the heart of the scenic Garden Route, the 2000ha reserve is nestled between Mosselbay and Stillbay and is only a 60min drive away from the George Airport. This is truly a gem in the Garden Route crown.

Gourikwa Reserve Accommodation

Whether you are craving a weekend breakaway or a longer holiday escape, Gourikwa Reserve’s self-catering accommodation will certainly surpass your expectations. 

Gourikwa Cottages: The Cottages are all less than 100m from the shore break, making every morning a unique experience. There are a total of 6 deluxe Cottages all fully equipped with a kitchen, built-in braai and spacious rooms. Five of the cottages have double rooms that sleeps 4 people and one unit sleeps 2. All rooms have their own bathroom and all linen and towels are provided. Wifi and Open View are provided in each cottage.

Fisherman's Houses: The 9 fisherman’s houses are all free standing units, spread out along the coast to have spectacular views of the seafront and the lighthouse. 8 Units sleep 4 people and 1 of the units sleep up to 6. These units are slightly more rustic than the Cottages, yet each unit has its own character depending where it’s situated. All units are fully equipped with kitchenette, a cozy fireplace inside and a spacious patio with built-in braai facing the sea.

Villa Suites & Villa Houses: There are 15 Villa Suites with sleeper couch. These units are equipped with kitchenette, King or Twin beds, a sleeper couch and a patio. Each unit has its own bathroom with shower and bath. Portable braai’s can be arranged. Wifi and Open View channels provided in each room.

Our 5 Villa houses consist of four self-catering units in each Villa. These houses are ideal for groups as they sleep between 8 and 14 guests. Each unit has its own kitchen, bathroom, patio and build in braai. The layout of all units are different although the look and feel are the same. Units equipped with WiFi and Open View channels.

Weddings @ Gourikwa Reserve

With a chapel overlooking the ocean, there surely can’t be many wedding venues that can compare to Gourikwa’s offering. The picturesque chapel with a thatch roof and bell tower is a mere 50m from the shore making it idea for newly wed pictures on the beach. Walking distance from the chapel is a brand new banquet hall, which can accommodate between 180 – 200 people. We supply all the tables and chairs, yet catering is not included. Conferencing @ Gourikwa Reserve

Gourikwa’s conferencing facilities are ideal for groups or corporates. There are a variety of conference venues available on the reserve. We can comfortably accommodate up to 200 delegates. Being an isolated reserve, the venue is ideal for team-building, training or motivational talks.
